Ascerta Raises $18M to Help Companies Measure AI's Real Business Impact
The startup has secured Series A funding to address a critical gap: enterprises spending heavily on AI but lacking visibility into whether those investments actually generate value.

Enterprises are pouring substantial capital into artificial intelligence initiatives, yet most struggle to quantify the actual returns on those expenditures. Ascerta Inc., a startup focused on solving this measurement problem, has closed a Series A funding round worth $18 million, bringing its total capital raised to $22.9 million.
Dell Technologies Capital led the Series A round, with additional backing from Hitachi Ventures, BGV and Wipro Ventures. The funding will support Ascerta's mission to help organizations move beyond surface-level metrics and understand which AI projects genuinely drive revenue and cost savings.
The core challenge Ascerta addresses is straightforward but persistent: while companies can easily track token consumption and lines of AI-generated code, few can answer whether their AI investments actually create business value. Traditional FinOps tools designed for cloud infrastructure spending offer limited insight into real-world outcomes from AI agents and coding assistants, according to Ascerta co-founder and Chief Executive David Tepper.
Tepper explained that most organizations encounter only "meaningless vanity metrics" when evaluating their AI spending. "They're struggling to derive the real impact AI has on their business," he said. "We built Ascerta to cut through the noise and give organizations the means to win in the AI-era with insights specific to their business, people and use cases."
How Ascerta's Platform Works
Ascerta delivers insights through a unified system that connects to major enterprise AI platforms, including Microsoft Corp.'s Copilot, Anthropic PBC's Claude, Amazon Web Services Inc.'s Bedrock and Salesforce Inc.'s Agentforce. Once integrated, the platform tracks AI economics at the level of individual users, teams and applications, revealing hidden fees, enterprise discounts and sub-token costs that other tools miss.
Tepper stated that the platform provides "purpose-built tools to prevent waste and aggressively optimize AI for value."
The platform comprises three main components:
- Atlas measures AI adoption, value generation and return on investment
- Forge delivers insights into how engineering teams deploy coding agents and their effect on productivity
- Convoy helps organizations understand AI computing resource consumption, enabling workload consolidation and optimization without operational disruption

Early Results
Ascerta has already worked with companies including Atos SE and Wipro Ltd., achieving measurable improvements in their AI investments. Across these engagements, the platform improved return on investment by an average of 47%, reduced AI agent launch times by 24% and cut wasted AI resource spending by 86%.
Florin Ratar, Chief AI Officer at Atos Group, described Ascerta's platform as "instrumental" in scaling the company's Sovereign Agentic Studios initiative, offering "visibility and control" over AI operations.
Ramana Khanna, managing director of Dell Technologies Capital, emphasized that enterprises are shifting away from broad AI experimentation toward investments with measurable business outcomes. "Ascerta is giving leaders the visibility and rigor they need to understand what's working, optimize spending and scale their most successful AI initiatives," he said.
