Hilton is strengthening its technology foundation in anticipation of agentic AI becoming a competitive differentiator, Christopher Nassetta, the company's President and CEO, announced during the firm's Q3 2026 earnings call on Tuesday. The hospitality chain is piloting technologies designed to bridge the gap between physical and digital customer touchpoints, with Nassetta suggesting the capability will fundamentally alter how Hilton reaches customers, how guests interact with properties, and how the company manages service interactions.

In the years to come, we believe technology will become an even greater strategic advantage for Hilton, empowering our team members, strengthening performance for our owners, and making it easier for guests to experience the very best of Hilton.

Building Infrastructure Before the AI Wave

While Hilton leadership does not anticipate AI agents displacing human involvement in customer experiences immediately, the company is positioning itself ahead of shifting consumer demands. Nassetta declined to elaborate on specific initiatives, citing competitive sensitivities, but indicated that some capabilities are already visible to customers as an early indication of broader developments ahead.

Hilton is maintaining relationships with multiple agentic AI platforms, including emerging players in the space. Though the current financial contribution from these tools remains negligible, Nassetta projected meaningful impact in coming periods. He drew a parallel between the transformative effect of agentic AI and the internet's historical impact on business and society.

They're going to be fast, they're going to be easy, they're going to be very effective, and humans like that, and they're going to trend to that.

Recent Moves to Accelerate AI Adoption

Hilton launched a generative AI-powered digital concierge in beta during March, enabling guests to organize travel plans across its properties through natural language interaction. The company also reinforced its technology leadership by appointing Jeff Moore as Chief Technology Officer, effective Monday. Nassetta indicated at the time that Moore's appointment would accelerate Hilton's ability to deploy AI and emerging technologies.

Financial Performance

Hilton delivered robust results in the third quarter of 2026, with comparable revenue per available room climbing 5.8% compared to the same period the previous year. The company generated net income of $536 million during the quarter.
