Crux Labs raises over $6M to improve enterprise agents with human judgment

Crux Labs, which builds artificial intelligence infrastructure to translate expert knowledge into continuous improvements for enterprise agents, announced its launch today with over $6 million in seed funding. Benchstrength and Misneach co-led the round, joined by Analog Ventures and Pareto Holdings.

The challenge Crux Labs targets is fundamental to scaling autonomous systems in business. Enterprise deployments of AI agents process anywhere from thousands to millions of interactions daily. While existing observability tools help teams monitor and inspect agent behavior, they struggle to enable meaningful improvements when dealing with such volume.

In practice, organizations typically review only the top 1 percent or fewer of agent interactions for human analysis, selecting them by specific metrics, thresholds or random sampling. This approach means the overwhelming majority of agent failures go unexamined and unaddressed.

Aligning AI agents to human judgment is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Agents are incredible at attaining goals, but they lack access to the years of heuristics that we as humans have collected in our heads.

When domain expertise lives primarily in the minds of experienced professionals, Crux Labs argues that problem-solving becomes reactive rather than proactive. A minor issue might take weeks to escalate from initial glitch to formal ticket to deployed patch. The company's thesis is that closing the gap between expert knowledge and agent behavior can dramatically compress this timeline.

Crux Labs deploys its own agents to serve as evaluators and improvement mechanisms. The system captures expert judgment from employees and calibrates it across millions of interactions, allowing teams to extend their expertise across a much broader sample of agent activity rather than relying on tiny slices of data.

The platform has gained adoption among rapidly scaling startups and established enterprises operating in healthcare, cybersecurity, financial services and other sectors requiring sophisticated decision-making.

Engineering teams know how to build AI agents, and subject matter experts know what success looks like, but enterprises lack the bridge between them.
