Figma expands London footprint as UK becomes top European market
The design platform is deepening its presence in the United Kingdom with a larger London office, where two-thirds of FTSE 100 companies now use Figma.

Figma has unveiled plans for an expanded London office, marking a significant commitment to one of its most important markets beyond North America. The move reflects the platform's growing footprint in the UK, where approximately two-thirds of FTSE 100 companies rely on Figma as of Q2 2026.
The new workspace occupies restored Georgian and Victorian warehouse buildings at Elder Yard on Norton Folgate, a historic neighborhood long associated with craftspeople and makers. Daniel Barrett, Figma's SVP of International, commented on the expansion: "The UK has one of the deepest concentrations of design and product talent anywhere, from the banks and retailers building new digital products to the design studios shaping the future of online interaction. We're proud to expand our office in the heart of this incredible creative ecosystem."
London's Mayor Sadiq Khan offered his endorsement of the investment. "I'm delighted that Figma is expanding its presence in London. Its decision to invest further in the capital is a vote of confidence in London's position as a global leader in technology, design, and the creative industries. London's exceptional talent, diversity, and culture of innovation make it one of the best places in the world to start and grow a business. Through our London Growth Plan, we are continuing to support the high-growth industries that create good jobs, boost productivity, and help us build a fairer and more prosperous city for everyone."
AI collaboration reshaping how teams work
The London expansion arrives as Figma released its 2026 AI report, which examines how artificial intelligence is transforming collaborative work across design and development. The research synthesized three years of data from 8,403 survey responses and 639 qualitative interviews with professionals across ten markets: the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Brazil, India, and South Korea.
Globally, the findings reveal significant shifts in how teams operate:
- 41% of product builders report that AI now meaningfully affects how their teams collaborate, compared to just 7% two years prior
- 90% of respondents believe design remains at least as critical as before AI adoption, with 57% saying it has grown more important
- Developer participation in design work increased from 44% to 60% in a single year, while designer involvement in development activities doubled to 41%
Within the UK specifically, responses from 421 local participants showed particularly strong adoption signals:
- 52% now view design as more important, up from 44% the previous year
- 34% describe AI's collaborative impact as significant or transformational, compared to 14% a year earlier
- 92% consider AI essential to their future success as a designer or developer, and 63% report it enhances work quality
UK market leadership and global expansion
As of Q2 2026, roughly 85% of Figma's weekly active users operate outside the United States, with the UK holding the top position across Europe. Major organizations including ASOS, BT, News UK, and Vodafone have collectively generated over 15 million files on the platform during the past 12 months.
The London office expansion is part of a broader international growth strategy. Figma has opened or enlarged offices in São Paulo, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Berlin, and New York during the same period.
