Noma Security Inc., which develops artificial intelligence security tools, has announced a $100 million Series B funding round aimed at boosting its engineering capabilities. Evolution Equity Partners served as lead investor, joined by Ballistic Ventures and Glilot Capital. The announcement arrives within months of the company's founding, and Noma reports it has already attracted dozens of organizational customers.

"AI agent adoption is exploding within our customer base and CISOs understand that AI innovation must be thoughtfully deployed with full guardrails," said Noma co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Niv Braun.

A significant challenge in enterprise environments involves employees deploying AI applications without informing their IT departments. This shadow deployment creates blind spots that security teams may miss during vulnerability assessments, potentially leaving dangerous gaps in defenses. Noma's answer involves a software platform designed to discover all AI applications running across a corporate network and map their locations automatically.

Platform Capabilities

The platform presents its findings through an interactive dashboard that identifies which employee deployed each workload and highlights any associated security risks. Noma's technology can identify poisoned datasets—training data that attackers have compromised by inserting malicious content designed to alter how AI models behave. For instance, adversaries could corrupt a malware detection model's training data to cause it to ignore specific types of malicious code.

Beyond poisoned datasets, the platform detects multiple categories of security issues. These include infrastructure weaknesses supporting AI applications, insecure open-source dependencies, and compromised models. The software ranks discovered problems by risk level, helping administrators focus remediation work on the most critical issues first.

Noma includes specialized functionality for AI agents. The platform identifies which systems an agent can reach and scans those systems for weaknesses. It also identifies configuration problems, such as agents granted access to more information than their intended function requires.

Development and Compliance Features

The platform gathers security information about AI workloads by integrating with the development tools teams use to create them. This integration allows Noma to identify problems before code reaches production environments. Once applications go live, the platform implements guardrails that block harmful prompts from reaching the AI system.

Beyond security, Noma's platform assists with regulatory compliance. The software evaluates whether AI workloads meet standards established by regulations including the EU AI Act. Additionally, it verifies that applications respect the licensing agreements governing any open-source components they incorporate.

Future Plans

Noma intends to deploy the new capital toward expanding its engineering organization and accelerating development of new product features. The company also plans to strengthen its international sales and marketing operations to reach customers across multiple regions.
