Legora closes $550M Series E as legal AI competition heats up
The legal automation platform reached an $8.8 billion valuation while doubling its annual recurring revenue to over $200 million, matching a rival's fundraising haul.

Legora, a legal technology company focused on AI-driven workflow automation, announced on Wednesday the completion of a $550 million Series E funding round that values the company at $8.8 billion.
The platform serves legal professionals by automating routine tasks and providing AI-powered services designed to enhance productivity. The funding announcement reflects a broader shift in the legal tech sector toward practical, task-focused AI solutions rather than general-purpose assistants.
The timing of Legora's raise mirrors activity in the competitive legal AI landscape. Harvey, identified as Legora's primary competitor, announced an identical $550 million funding round just one month prior, achieving a $15.5 billion valuation. Harvey disclosed in March that its annual recurring revenue had surpassed $200 million.
Legora's latest funding builds on momentum from earlier this year. In April, the company announced a $50 million extension to its Series D round, which had originally raised $550 million and valued the company at $5.6 billion. At that juncture, Legora reported annual recurring revenue of $100 million. The company has now doubled that figure to over $200 million.
Atreides Management led the Series E round, joined by investors including Baron Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Menlo. The company intends to deploy the capital toward geographic expansion throughout North America.
