Gallatin AI raises $50M in funding for its military logistics platform

Gallatin AI Inc., which develops software for military logistics operations, announced a $50 million Series A funding round today. The investment came from 8VC, Silent Ventures and additional backers, building on the company's $15 million seed round completed in 2024.

The El Segundo, California company has developed Navigator, a platform designed to help the U.S. military optimize supply chain operations. The U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force currently use the system, and it can also serve the Defense Department's commercial logistics partners. According to the company, Navigator streamlines the movement of supplies and reduces the time logistics teams spend on related tasks.

The opportunity in front of us is bigger than building better software. It is making logistics a source of operational advantage, and giving sustainers the ability to make better decisions before constraints become mission problems.

Automating Supply Chain Workflows

Military logistics teams currently handle substantial manual work to determine supply requirements and locations. They review extensive inventory reports and process ad hoc supply requests sent through military communication systems like internal chat tools. In some instances, they must also examine data from vehicle sensors that track critical items such as fuel levels.

Navigator automates this data collection process by pulling supply chain records from multiple sources and standardizing them into a unified format. The platform then applies artificial intelligence to present this information through interactive dashboards.

The system displays all assets a logistics team manages. For aircraft, for example, it may present requirements for fuel, corrosion prevention sprays and replacement parts. Navigator visualizes certain data as graphs while displaying other information on maps, and includes a spreadsheet-style viewer for detailed records.

Predictive Capabilities and Planning Support

Navigator employs AI to forecast when supplies will become depleted. These predictions draw from factors including current stock levels and past consumption trends. The software recalibrates its forecasts when new circumstances arise, such as sudden increases in consumption.

Logistics personnel can leverage Navigator's insights to create resupply strategies. Gallatin states that the platform's built-in AI identifies optimization opportunities within these plans and handles related administrative work automatically.

Funding and Next Steps

Gallatin intends to deploy the Series A capital toward strengthening Navigator's artificial intelligence functionality. The company plans to expand its engineering team to support this development effort.
