Aron Inc. has officially launched with $8 million in total funding to bring artificial intelligence into procurement workflows. The company closed two separate funding rounds, with Menlo Ventures backing the initial investment and Storm Ventures leading a subsequent $6 million seed round.

At the heart of procurement lies the request for quote, or RFQ, a process where teams solicit bids from multiple suppliers for the same contract. Suppliers respond with pricing and delivery terms, and procurement professionals then evaluate submissions to select the winning vendor. Traditionally, this workflow demands substantial hands-on effort, including chasing down late bids and correcting incomplete or inaccurate proposal details.

Aron's cloud-based solution deploys AI agents to handle the supplier correspondence that typically consumes procurement teams' time. These agents manage email exchanges with prospective suppliers, send reminders for outstanding bids, and consolidate the incoming data. By automating this back-and-forth, Aron eliminates the need for dedicated data collection portals that companies normally build to manage RFQ projects, reducing software costs.

The platform extends its capabilities beyond the initial bidding phase. When a supplier's offer advances to contract, Aron's agents scan the proposed agreement against the company's internal procurement policies to flag potential issues. After a deal closes, the system continues to monitor for invoice discrepancies relative to contract terms and alerts users before automatic renewal dates arrive.

The foundation of Aron's decision-making rests on a knowledge graph, a data structure that connects an organization's invoices, supplier agreements and supporting documents. Since companies typically maintain these records across disparate systems, manual review becomes impractical. Aron's approach consolidates this information to enable automated analysis.

According to Aron, customers can achieve return on investment within three weeks of implementation. The company also claims its platform reduces RFQ cycle time by an average of 21%. These metrics have already attracted several mid-market and Fortune 10 companies to adopt the platform ahead of today's public launch.
